Procedure for reviewing articles

All scientific articles submitted to the Editorial Board of the online journal ‘Noise Theory and Practice’ are subject to mandatory review.

The Editor-in-Chief determines the compliance of the article with the profile of the Journal and sends it for review to the Editorial Board.

The reviewing is carried out by one of the members of the Journal Editorial Board, who has the area of expertise closest to the topic of the scientific article. The Editorial Board is entitled to involve external reviewers, including practitioners with recognized authority and working in the field of knowledge related to the article content.

Reviews are discussed by the Editorial Board and serve as ground for acceptance or rejection of the manuscript.

During the reviewing procedure the Editorial Board checks the submitted articles for plagiarism, which includes using the software. If the uniqueness of the article is established at less than 80%, the article is not accepted and given to the author for revision.

Terms of reviewing in each case are determined by the Executive Secretary of the Journal taking into account enabling as timely as possible publication of the articles.

The original reviews are kept in the Editorial Office for 5 years. It is allowed to replace the original reviews with copies if the member of the Editorial Board who wrote the review has a permanent residence abroad or in the city of the Russian Federation other than the location of the Editorial Office.

The Editorial Board sends the authors of the submitted materials copies of reviews or a reasoned refusal to publish the materials.

The Editorial Board sends copies of reviews to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in the case of receipt in the Edition of the corresponding request.

In case of a negative review, the author of the article is sent a reasoned refusal to publish the material in the Journal, certified by the Editor-in-Chief or his/her Deputy.

The Editorial Board does not keep articles not accepted for publication.
